Community Efforts In Tafo

In Tafo sanitation has been the development council's priority. This was dictated by the local community as being of top importance in the coming year. Much of the labour will be contributed by community effort, the majority of the funds going towards bulldozers. As part of the programme semi-deciduous trees which hold their leaves in the dry season will be planted along the river banks to reduce evaporation.

A community maintenance programme will also be instilled to insure the river does not silt up and is kept weed free. This scheme has the potential to transform the town both amenity-wise and health-wise.
